Picture Perfect Weight Loss ProgramWritten by Howard M. Shapiro, DO, a life management and weight control specialist, Picture Perfect Weight Loss is a visual program for - the author claims - permanent weight reduction. He says there are no bad foods, no correct food serving sizes and there's no need to "diet". Instead, he advocates "food awareness training" and his weight loss book does this by giving you visual demonstrations of foods in order to help you make satisfying food choices. How Picture Perfect Weight Loss WorksThe food photographs throughout the book aim to help you change your relationship with food by choosing low calorie foods that may be eaten in filling, satisfying portions, rather than high calorie alternatives that cause weight gain and obesity. As well as displaying graphic examples of differing food options, Shapiro includes a list of foods to keep in stock at all times, a supermarket shopping guide, exercise advice and a selection of healthy menu options from restaurants. Picture Perfect Weight Loss: Food DiaryYour first step when starting the Picture Perfect Weight Loss program, is to keep a food journal for at least 7 days. This food diary should include details of what you eat, when you eat it, how hungry you are beforehand, and the eating situation. This serves as an important eating awareness tool, which should help you to improve your eating habits. |
Picture Perfect Weight Loss Book: Our OpinionThis dieting book is well presented, easy to read and full of illustrative food photographs. As a visual tool to help you appreciate comparative food options it is excellent. That said, the lack of a specific diet plan and diet menus may prove unhelpful for dieters who prefer not to create their own weight loss diet. However, if you can visit Shapiro's clinic and meet with his dietitians and weight loss counselors, you may find this program very beneficial. |
