What is Vitamin E?
Also known as tocopherol, vitamin E is fat soluble and is stored throughout the body in the liver, heart, muscles, testes uterus, adrenal, and pituitary glands, and in the blood. It's beneficial effects are greatly enhanced when working in combination with selenium.
Functions of Vitamin E in Diet
The most powerful of all antioxidants, vitamin E strengthens the immune system and protects against cardiovascular disease. It also has a major function as an anticoagulant (anti-blood clotting agent) and vasodilator (helps to dilate and maintain blood vessels).
