Here are a few simple snack-food suggestions for lower glycemic index snacks to help maintain better control over your food/hunger cravings, appetite and blood glucose.

- 1 oz ham wrapped around rib of celery
- 1 oz turkey wrapped around carrot stick
- Carrot sticks with cottage cheese
- Small bowl bran cereal with low-fat milk
- Hard-cooked egg
- Cheese string and cherry tomatoes
- Roasted garbanzo beans (chickpeas)
- 2 oatmeal cookies
- Cup of regular popcorn
- 1 serving low-GI fresh fruit (apple, orange, pear, peach)
- 1 low-fat cappuccino
