Cabbage Soup Diet
Introduction
A simple 7-day diet of do-it-yourself
cabbage soup plus a mixture of other fruits & vegetables and a little
meat. Despite many ludicrous claims, cabbage does not possess any 'fat-burning'
properties.
What you eat on the cabbage
soup diet
Day 1
Home-made cabbage soup, plus any fruit, apart from bananas.
Day 2
Home-made cabbage soup, plus other vegetables, including a baked potato
with butter for dinner (potatoes are off-limits on other days)
Day 3
Home-made cabbage soup, plus other fruits and vegetables.
Day 4
Home-made cabbage soup, plus anything up to 8 bananas and fat-free milk.
Day 5
Home-made cabbage soup, plus 6 tomatoes and up to 450 grams of meat or
fish.
Day 6
Home-made cabbage soup, plus meat and vegetables.
Day 7
Home-made cabbage soup, plus brown rice, pure fruit juice, and vegetables.
Advantages of the cabbage
soup diet
Probably quite good as a short
term break from the average junk-food diet. In addition, home-made soup
is a good slimming food - although any vegetable soup will do - and is
reasonably filling.
Drawbacks
Not good as a regular or long-term diet plan. Extremely monotonous, it
is not sufficiently balanced and lacks other important vitamins and minerals.
Also, despite ludicrous claims to the contrary, cabbage does not possess
any 'fat-burning' properties. Finally, it doesn't help you to change your
eating habits which is the No 1 secret of permanent weight loss.
Verdict
If you fancy a 7-day break from junk food, or if you have only a couple
of pounds to lose, it might be worthwhile obtaining a copy of this diet.
But DON'T follow it for any longer. Also, please be warned: after 7 days
of cabbage soup you may never want to eat another vegetable again!
